'The worst earthquake in Turkey, since 1999
Today at 4.17am (GMT+3), a 7.9 magnitude earthquake struck Turkey and Syria.
While search and rescue efforts continue, official reports indicate that more than 1800 deaths and hundreds of injuries. Hundreds of homes were destroyed or damaged, along with public infrastructure, including schools and mosques.
One of the survivors of the earthquake, described the scene as a day like 'the Day of Resurrection' from the horror they experienced and the citizens fleeing to save themselves, while the Turkish Minister of Interior announced a fourth-degree warning that requires international assistance.
