Story

Grigorios, Anna, Jade and James are running the Edinburgh Marathon Relay on Sunday 26th May 2024.

UCAN has just launched a £2.5million fundraising campaign to reduce the time taken to diagnose patients with urological cancers by approximately 80%.

The RDC aims to enable patients with a suspected urological cancer to be seen quicker, and to have all of their scans and/or diagnostic procedures during a single visit to hospital. The RDC aims to significantly reduce the time to diagnosis, which will improve cancer treatment outcomes and reduce anxiety for patients and their families across the North of Scotland.

The RDC will further enhance Aberdeen Royal Infirmary as a Centre of Excellence for the diagnosis and treatment of Urological Cancers, make more effective use of Clinicians time and help to continue attracting the best Medical Practitioners from around the World.

We are a local urological cancer charity set up to raise awareness & support patients & families at our Care Centre in Ward 209, ARI. We are fundraising to raise £2.5M to open a SURE Unit at ARI (formerly RDC). Urological cancers are some of the most curable cancers if detected early enough.
