I am running 10k to raise money to support those with broken hearts and empty arms.
On the weekend of 1st and 2nd March, I will be running 10K to honour the memory of our baby and to raise money for those navigating the devastation of pregnancy loss.
In my life I have experienced multiple types of loss—a second-trimester loss, early miscarriage, chemical pregnancy, missed miscarriage, and a molar pregnancy. Each time, I was sent home from hospital with nothing but a leaflet and the promise of support from a bereavement midwife who never called. It left me feeling completely alone, as though my baby wasn't real and my grief didn’t matter.
In my search for support, I found The Worst Girl Gang Ever—a community that changed everything for me. Their podcast and book helped me feel connected to others who truly understood, and their stories put my feelings into words when I couldn’t express them. Later, I joined one of their Trying to Conceive After Loss courses which empowered me with essential knowledge to advocate for myself within an NHS which unfortunately isn’t resourced to help me. They also connected me with a group of incredible women who have since become close friends and the only people I can speak to who really get what I’m going through.
I was fortunate to be able to pay for the support I so desperately needed, but many others are not. The Worst Girl Gang Ever is now a registered charity, working to provide this support for free—so no one has to go through this alone.
I would love to raise as much as possible to help them with their mission to make care and support accessible to all who need it. If you can, please donate—every contribution, no matter the size, will help ensure that bereaved parents receive the compassion and understanding they deserve.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for remembering with me.
