Story
This project is aimed at alleviating the effects of the ongoing drought in Turkana on the local community. This will be done by distribution of basic food to the most vulnerable groups of the nomadic Turkana society; that is the sick, elderly, widows, orphans and socially isolated.
In addition, these areas of Turkana are also being affected by resource scarcity and border insecurity which is worsened by the unfavourable weather and drought cycles. This means that a crucial aspect of this project is conflict resolution and peace building.
This proposed humanitarian intervention will be carried out in 5 geographical areas centred on the logistical bases of Nariokotome, Kokuselei, Todonyang, Lobur and Kibish covering a large part of the territory of Turkana North sub-county and the Kibish sub-county including South Ethiopia.
With your support we will be able to limit the effects of the ongoing drought on the lives of the 27,649 residing in the area where the project takes place.
