Story
A powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake has devastated huge areas of Myanmar. Thousands of people have been injured and the death toll is rising. Many more have no access to the safe shelter, clean water, food and medical care they need to survive.
On 5 and 6 April, together with a group of friends, I completed the Coast- to-Coast trail across Singapore to raise funds for some of the charities helping those affected.
The Coast-to-Coast Trail (Central) is a 36 km trail that spans across Singapore, linking up nature areas, parks and park connectors. We started around 6 pm on 5 April and completed the trek around 6.10 am on 6 April.
I am now reaching out to my network to make another push for donations to the Disaster Emergency Committee (DEC) Myanmar Earthquake Appeal.
According to the DEC, £10 could provide urgently needed water to ten families for a day; £50 could provide emergency food for a family for one month; and £100 could provide essential hygiene supplies for 10 families for 3 months.
