TrustEd Student Parliament Story:
We are pleased to announce that TrustEd Schools have set up a 'Student Parliament'. We consist of 18 student representatives from 9 schools, both Primary and Secondary. The intention of the 'Parliament' is to allow our approximately 5000 students across the Trust to raise awareness of school, local community, and National projects. Working together we will hopefully have a much bigger impact on our endeavours. Our first project is to raise awareness and money for charities identified by the students across the schools.
A day was spent by the Parliament presenting a wide range of charities that have supported the students and families across the Trust. After much deliberation, our representatives, decided on two very worthy causes. One of the charities being Papyrus.
PAPYRUS is the national Charity for the Prevention of Young Suicide.
Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under the age of 35 in the UK, every year over 1800 young people took their own lives. PAPYRUS provides confidential support and advice to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide, and anyone worried about a young person through their helpline, HOPELINE247.
Every £5 raised can contribute towards a life-saving contact to HOPELINE247. Your donations really are lifesaving, thank you.
