Story

I’m thrilled to be heading to Tanzania with the incredible Last Night A DJ Saved My Life Charity to support their ‘Get Equipped’ project.

Since the formation of the fantastic 'Last Night A DJ Saved My Life' charity in 2010.

I have been a proud fundraiser.  I have known Jonny and Russell the founders from way back in my earlier clubbing days. Their work resonates with me and it's brilliant to be involved in something I love the most.....Music!

After almost 50 years as a professional DJ I feel its important I can use the profile I have built in the music industry to help others less fortunate.

In January 2025, Last Night A DJ Saved My Life is returning to Tanzania with the inspiring ‘Get Equipped’ project and I've been invited to come along to help out and support the team.

I'll be working alongside the incredible Darren Jay and Jono Heale, Ellie Talebian and Jonny Lee and we will take DJ equipment to the youth at Angels Gate and share the transformative power of music through DJing and music production workshops.

Some of the kit is being provided by Pioneer DJ and Alpha Theta and I've had some training with these guys recently that I can hopefully pass on at the project in Angels Gate, Tanzania.

The boys at Angels Gate have faced incredibly tough life experiences. Many are street-involved and have struggled in traditional educational settings.

Since music and art education are not formally integrated into the curriculum, many children and young people lack access to these vital creative opportunities.

Yet, anyone involved in the music world understands how profoundly such education can inspire, uplift, and foster positivity.

This project gives them something invaluable: exploring their creativity in a safe, supportive space. Through music, they can build confidence, discover new talents, and find a positive outlet.

Music is a magical vehicle to help develop so many other transferable life skills, which can be fundamental in changing young people’s lives for a lifetime.

Please give what you can because without the fantastic work these charities do globally, the world would be a darker place for many less fortunate people! Thank you.
