Story

What are we doing?

KJ and I are trekking through 80km of the Sahara Desert for a week. Walking through arduous rock and sand by day, and camping in freezing temperatures at night … all for the Alzheimer's Society!

Why?

In loving memory of Terrance Coombs, KJ’s lovely Grandad Terry who practically lived in his walking boots!

Terry would often take the family out on long walks up and down the UK, so he would think it was pretty epic that his granddaughter was giving this a crack.

Sadly, Terry was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. And like Terry, 1 in 3 people will be diagnosed with dementia in their lifetime.

To help tackle this, we've set ourselves a target of raising £5,000 to help fund critical support, care, research and campaigning for those affected by dementia.

Thank you!

Thank you so much for your support! It’s fair to say this is quite a level up from our usual country walks and KJ’s one experience of camping. We’re excited but slightly terrified and our training starts now for our very own ‘grandad walk’ … Sahara edition.
