Story
I lost my husband Ian to Gliosarcoma (a more aggressive Glioblastoma) in December 2018 at 48 years young. Ians battle was a very short one as upon diagnosis he had 3 brain tumours which were inoperable he died 13 weeks after his initial diagnosis.
Ian was a fit healthy man robbed of his life by this horrendous disease. Ian was a train driver for 31 years regularly going over the Forth Rail Bridge on his way to Dundee or Aberdeen, so I think this is a very appropriate challenge to take on.
Brain tumour research needs a lot more funding to try and find a cure for this life limiting cancer.
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer… yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. This is unacceptable!
I am fundraising for Brain Tumour Research as they are the only national charity dedicated to funding long-term, sustainable research in the UK. Please help me fund the fight. Together we will find a cure.
