Story
So here it is... Team Troopers 2023, and I'm bringing you something new:
In October I'm going to be walking from Belorado to Fromista- 145km, a self guided tour in Northern Spain, part of the Camino de Santiago Relay, a physically demanding hike.
My walk is being sponsored by my employer, DGP Intelsius, who are sending me and a colleague on the Belarado to Fromista leg of the Camino Way. In previous years, Intelsius have sponsored other colleagues to complete different legs on the walk, providing a unique experience for staff to get to know each other while walking one of the world’s most famous walking routes and we get to choose our charity. Of course mine is Macmillan
As most of you know, we started Team Troopers a number of years ago and have had some amazing fund raising results for Macmillan Cancer Support (see past Team Troopers pages) .
Why do it again?
We have all been touched by cancer in some ways…
Personally, I’ve been on both sides of it but I class myself as very lucky because I survived- twice! Some, sadly, don’t and some are fighting this terrible disease everyday.
The affects are catastrophic on the patient and their loved ones which is why the work of Macmillan is so important, commendable and should never be underestimated.
This event is a huge challenge.
As a result of my previous illnesses I live with side effects which mean my boundaries are certainly going to be pushed., that's got to be worth a donation, I'm sure you’ll agree.
I’d like to thank my family and friends for supporting my training, my work, Intelsius, who are funding the relay and giving me time off work to complete it, and of course, our Team Troopers supporters who continue to donate, share our pages and are there to cheer us on.
I’m always overwhelmed and in awe of the support we receive and I remain eternally grateful and proud of you all.
All donations are welcomed. Please share my page and let’s make this another successful fundraising event.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
As always, much love and good health to you all
Love Tracy
xx
