In loving memory of John 💜

I lost my lovely husband John in July 2024 to this cruel and unforgiving disease, and I feel a deep need to do something - to raise awareness, to honour his memory, and to help others in the future.

Pancreatic cancer is one of the deadliest forms of cancer. Most people live just three months from diagnosis. The survival rate for Pancreatic Cancer is a staggering 7%. Yes, you read that correctly. My John, with his strength, positivity and determination, gave us 17 months and 2 days. I’ll be forever grateful for that extra time - many aren’t as lucky.

That’s why I’ve signed up for the Isle of Wight Ultra Challenge 2025 - a 106km walk around the entire island in just two days. It’s going to be tough, but nothing compared to what those facing this disease go through, as I well know.

I’m doing this to support Pancreatic Cancer UK, who work tirelessly to fund vital research into early detection, better treatments, and ultimately, to give people more time with their loved ones.

This challenge is for John. It’s for the families who are fighting. It’s for the future we can change.
