Story
All the funds raised from this years
Doug Fisher Classic ⛳️
Will be going to the Rob Burrows Motor Neurone Charity.
Helping to raise £6.8 million to build a specialist Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Care Centre in Leeds, to give people living with MND the best quality of life.
Our annual Charity Golf Day is all about bringing Doug’s friends & family together to celebrate his life.
The day also pays tribute to the words etched on Doug’s headstone
“I may not have the best of health, but I do have the very best of friends”
Our friends got us through some extremely difficult times as Doug’s health deteriorated.
Supporting Doug & our family through the harsh adjustments to his illness & the effect this had on Doug.
From hospital appointments, weekly visits & in the later stages, rallying around to help with the amazing DIY SOS 🆘 project on our family home. The list is endless
All our friends gave constant emotional & logistical support to make each day so much easier.
So many kind gestures of support which meant the absolute world to Doug & our family.
When the chips were down
Our friends were always there to help us through.
With all this in mind
Both Lel, myself & all the lads
Wish to do our bit to acknowledge & support
One of our own
who has been diagnosed with motor neurone disease.
We can’t think of a more fitting tribute to Doug & to the event itself.
I know hand on heart
Doug will be so chuffed with this & will have given it a Big Dougy Fisher thumbs up 👍
