Story
I'll be 72 when I run this London marathon, and I promise it will be the last of my 24 half marathons and five marathons for Macmillan Cancer over the last ten years or so.
As always, the amazing Yorkshire in Business team will support me in this fundraising, and my red lobster running hat will feature the five names of my young friends, whom I have always run in memory of.
£10,000 is a huge amount to raise, but it is my last marathon, and if you saw my last marathon and even my last half marathon, it will be some achievement to do it.
The team has some great fundraising events lined up, but please don't wait for them. Please donate your fivers and tenners - this is a wonderful cause, especially for the people of York, Scarborough and the whole of North Yorkshire.
Here's Why?
"We always put the patient at the heart of everything we do. We work very closely with the personalised care team to provide an individual package of treatment and support for each patient. The investment in the new centre will continue this approach, helping to provide the best possible outcomes for people living with cancer in the region”
Tracey Doherty, Lead Cancer Nurse at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundations Trust.
THANK YOU.
