Story
I've been inspired by a close family member and friend who's fighting cancer to go way beyond my comfort zone and enter the 52km (32 mile) Peak District Ultra Marathon on 6 July 2024.
After being diagnosed with oesophageal cancer and multiple secondary cancers last year he has been nothing short of inspirational. He's refusing to take a backward step and is using running as his chief motivator even though some days he's struggling to walk because of the cancer treatment. He convinced me to do a Half Marathon with him last September (my first) and this Ultra is the very illogical next step for me. I don't think I'll break any records but I promise to give every last ounce of effort to get around in one piece and raise as much money as possible!
I really hope you can spare a few pounds to help me raise money for this amazing charity, thank you. Macmillan gives people with cancer everything they’ve got. If you’re diagnosed, your worries are Macmillan’s worries. Macmillan’s doing whatever it takes. But without your help, Macmillan can’t support everyone who needs them.
