Last year, a dear friend of mine shared some devastating news. He had been diagnosed with a Chordoma Brain Tumour, a very rare form of cancer where 1 in 800,000 people contract this . It was a blow that shook the business community, particularly those that are close to Sanjay and know him well, as I do. But amidst the darkness, Sanjay Gandhi showed us what true strength and resilience look like.

Since his diagnosis, Sanjay has undergone four gruelling surgeries and is now in the midst of completing 41 Proton Beam Therapy sessions. It's been a long and arduous journey, but he continues to inspire us every step of the way.

In the face of adversity, Sanjay has taken it upon himself to raise funds for Bone Cancer Research. Through various fundraising activities, he has not only generated significant sums but also raised awareness about this often-overlooked form of cancer.

The Bone Cancer Research Trust is an organisation dedicated to saving lives and improving outcomes for those affected by primary bone cancer. Despite being a smaller charity, they fund more research projects exploring primary bone cancer than any other organisation in the UK.

It's disheartening to know that larger cancer research charities do not prioritise bone cancer patients. In fact, in 2019, less than 0.028% of their research spend went towards bone cancer – not even close to 1%! But the Bone Cancer Research Trust is different.

Last year alone, they committed an incredible £807,824 to pioneering bone cancer research – all in an effort to save lives!

Now, I am stepping up to join Sanjay and support this vital cause. I have decided to use my Adidas Manchester Marathon 2024 place to raise funds for Bone Cancer Research and support Sanjay on his journey to full recovery – a gruelling test of endurance that will push me to my limits.

But I need your help! My goal is to raise £1,000 for the Bone Cancer Research Trust by April 14th, 2024 and a few weeks beyond.
