Story
Hi everyone!
Having turned 40 this year I’ve decided to celebrate my mid life crisis by running the London Marathon.
I am running for Cystic Fibrosis. The charity is very close to my family's heart. Growing up we lost Tim, our neighbour and my sisters boyfriend. Tim was only 23.
Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a genetic condition which causes sticky mucus to build up in the lungs and digestive system. It affects more than 10,800 people in the UK. One in 25 of us carries the faulty gene that causes it, usually without knowing.
It would be great to raise as much money as possible to help the charity.
The money raised goes to a number of research efforts through every stage of CF. Tackling the underlying cause of CF, understanding and treating lung infections, and digital health research. Worldwide research into cystic fibrosis (CF) has led to massive improvements in quality of life and survival for people with CF over the last 50 years
I am training hard, putting the miles in and jumping into the occasional ice bath. Feel free to connect with me on Strava!
I appreciate any donation.
