Story
So on Friday 2nd Feb I’m going to be taking part in a fabulous event, Glow Green Night Walk in Liverpool for a charity that do wonderful work for many people suffering with & fighting cancer. For the last 3 years my partner Russ & his team have raised over £30,000 for Clatterbridge in honour of his late wife Debs and still continues to do so whether it’s this event, jumping out of plane or abseiling down the side of Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in Liverpool itself!
I want to try and do my part and raise as much as possible in these very difficult times, not only for people who need Clatterbridge but also for a very good friend of mine who has his own journey with Clatterbridge and bladder cancer. He is an awesome friend, who I confide in with so many of my challenges, so knowing that this charity has helped him I’ve got to help them. This is his story…
Just before Easter last year I received the shocking news that I had bladder cancer. Then followed rounds of all kinds of tests and scans etc. It looked like I was going to have to have major life saving and life changing surgery. Thankfully a previous procedure had got rid of the high grade aggressive cancer that was present. So now I’m just over half way through my first round of BCG Immunotherapy treatment - fingers crossed it’s successful! I will always be grateful for the excellent care received from the Doctors and nurses at Clatterbridge. Not only have they been excellent but also kind and compassionate.
I cannot fathom the importance of charities like this, and what they have done for my family. Please give what you can, and hopefully, together we can keep fighting this awful disease 🩵💚🦸🏻♀️
