Story
On the 9th March 2023, our beautiful Sarah passed away after an 18 month battle with appendix cancer at the age of 39. Throughout her treatment, the Sue Ryder Hospice in Leeds were an immeasurable pillar of support for not only Sarah, but her entire family; working tirelessly to make sure that Sarah was as comfortable as possible and had all she needed.
In the final weeks before Sarah passed away, I had the privilege of visiting Sarah at the hospice and witnessing the team's incredible work first hand. The skill, compassion, and absolute dedication was like nothing I had ever seen in my life. A truly remarkable team of people, offering warmth and open arms to those who need it most.
Sarah was an incredible young woman who dedicated her life to helping others. She, even in her darkest moments, still had a smile on her face and had the whole room laughing with her incredible, sharp sense of humour.
In memory of Sarah, and in support of the Susan Ryder Hospice, myself, my brother and 3 friends will be cycling 120 miles from Sarah's family home in Market Harborough to the hospice in Leeds.
We hope that with this, we can raise a little money to donate towards such an incredible charity and the incredible people that work within it.
Any donation would be so greatly appreciated and we look forward to hitting the road at the end of May!
