Story
Tom runs Royal Parks Half Marathon for Evelina
In just a couple of weeks Megan will turn 6. A week ago, Megan started Year 1 at school. I walked alongside her on her first day back to school as she rode her bike, chatting away, the happiest girl in the world. We've just shared the greatest summer together with fun times holidaying in Mallorca, enjoying lots of beach days in Bournemouth, camping at Eweleaze, eating lots of ice cream, swimming, walking, cycling, dancing, singing....so many happy memories.
And very little time goes by until one of these little memories take me back to when Megan was in Evelina Children's Hospital in her first weeks in this world, reminding me of just how lucky I am to have such an amazing, thriving, happy daughter.
It's been a while since I ran London Marathon for Evelina back in 2022 and I've always wanted to run the Royal Parks Half Marathon and so when I found out they were looking for runners to join their team, I thought what better excuse to give something back to Evelina and let them know how grateful I am for all these memories I now have of a fun life with Megan. Memories that I would have never had without the incredible medical care at Evelina, in the hands of some of the kindest, most compassionate people I've ever met, even to this day.
So if you can spare a small donation, I'd be grateful for your support.
Love,
Tom
A message from Evelina Children's Hospital:
Every year more than 103,000 children and young people experience the wonderful warmth of Evelina London, which is part of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. They see first-hand the care and passion of the Evelina London team who are exploring new approaches and creating ground-breaking care for children and young people.
To give you an idea of the impact of your donation:
£20 could help put a child's mind at ease with imaginative toys, books and games that explain what happens in hospital.
£50 could help the team put together amazing rucksacks full of distraction toys for every ward and department.
£100 could give every child the chance to escape into their favourite film, by buying more DVD players with headphones.
Thank you so much for your support!
