Story
Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page supporting the MND Association.
In Summer 2024, my Dad, Michael Nelmes, was diagnosed with motor neurone disease. It is a devastating rare disease that affects the brain and nerves, causing weakness that worsens over time.
Receiving the news and dealing with the condition on a daily basis has been incredibly difficult for him, my mum, my brother and me. But my Dad demonstrates amazing courage, humility, grace, humour, and resilience every day to live life as it comes and to its fullest. Despite what he is going through, he continues to put others before himself, and has made this change more manageable for all of us. He is a real inspiration.
The MND Association, the charity that supports those with the condition, is an incredible charity that offers care, research and campaigning for people affected by MND in the UK. To help support the charity, and people like my dad, I am raising money running the Brighton Marathon on Sunday 6th April.
By sponsoring me your money will help people affected by Motor Neurone Disease. Once you donate, JustGiving will send your money directly to the MND Association. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure, your details are safe - they'll never sell them or send unwanted emails.
He, and we, as a family have been shown incredible support by our friends and family, and the charity, and we are eternally grateful for everything that they have done for us.
Thank you for your support.
