Story

I am running the London Marathon in 2024 and dedicating my efforts to raising funds for OSCAR's Paediatric Brain Tumour Charity.

This cause is a personal one as my former personal trainer and coach, Cain North, is bravely facing a malignant brain tumour. Witnessing Cain's strength and resilience has inspired me to make a difference. Read more on Cain's story here.

Based in York, OSCAR's is at the forefront of vital research in this space. It exists to support and care for children facing brain tumours and their families, to raise awareness of children’s brain tumours and to fund new research to drive down diagnosis time, increase survival rate and improve children’s quality of life during and after treatment.

Your support, no matter the size, will contribute to groundbreaking research and provide hope to those battling.

Brain tumours are indiscriminate; they can affect anyone at any age. What’s more, they kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer... yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease.

Thank you for being a part of this journey.

About the charity

OSCAR's PBTC was set up in memory of Oscar Hughes, a 9-year-old who died of a brain tumour in 2014. His journey was heartbreaking yet inspiring. OSCAR's aims to provide support and care to children with brain tumours, raise awareness to help diagnosis and fund research into better treatments.
