Story
Hello, friends, family and colleagues!
I’m excited to be taking part in the MS Walk 2025, where I will be walking 15 kilometres to raise funds and awareness for multiple sclerosis (MS). MS is an unpredictable neurological condition, it's often debilitating and affects the nervous system, including the brain and spinal cord. I’m determined to help in the fight to stop it.
Multiple sclerosis can attack suddenly or progress steadily, and its effects vary greatly from person to person. This is why MS is often referred to as the "snowflake disease" because no two cases are exactly alike. Symptoms can include difficulty walking, balance problems, muscle weakness, numbness or tingling, cognitive challenges, sight loss, incontinence, fatigue, pain, depression, and even speech or swallowing difficulties, to name just a few. The hardest part? No one with MS can predict when or how these symptoms will affect them next, making it a constant battle.
Currently, there is no cure for MS, leaving those with the condition facing an uncertain future. While treatments can help manage symptoms and slow progression, they don’t stop the daily challenges people live with.
It’s vital that we come together to fund research, improve care, and support those living with MS. Your donation will directly contribute to efforts that can change lives. Every step I take in this 15K walk is a step closer to stopping MS.
To help you understand what people living with MS can go through, I encourage you to watch this powerful short film from Liam Senior (@livingwithms), which shows some of the challenges MS patients face. It’s eye-opening and serves as a reminder of why our support is so important.
This is more than just a walk; it’s an opportunity to make a difference. Please consider donating to my fundraiser. Every contribution, no matter how small, is a step toward a world where MS is no longer a daily struggle.
