All proceeds from the "Journey of the Heart" bike tour help support families like Ellis's.

Ellis is five years old and was diagnosed in 2023 with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).

Ellis's diagnosis meant medical bills the family was not prepared for, which came with complication.

Friends of Karen helped with everything from working to help apply to Medicaid for Ellis and arranging Ellis to have a tutor to stay on track for kindergarten, to making sure the family had gift cards to shop for Thanksgiving dinner and holiday gifts for Ellis and his younger brother.
