Story
I like a challenge.
And I like to support the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, a charity close to my heart.
So, this year, I'm taking on the challenge of walking the North Downs Way.
In September, I will make the 131-mile journey on foot, starting in my old university-stomping ground of Farnham in Surrey and arriving in the port of Dover nine days later.
Just like the Pilgrims before me, the hefty march will certainly put my ageing bones and slipped discs to the test.
Unlike the religious wayfarers, I'm not looking to pay my respects to the Saints. But I am looking for your support.
Your donations will make the journey much less painful in the knowledge that together we can help pay for crucial research and drugs to support people living with CF. People like my best mate, Jamie.
CF is a genetic condition which causes sticky mucus to build up in the lungs and digestive system. It affects almost 11,000 people in the UK.
And for the past 42 years, I've seen my pal continue to battle (and win) against this absolute brute of a condition.
In return for your support, I promise to walk my socks off and keep you fully updated during what promises to be a hefty jaunt across the Downs.
Thank you.
Love, Tom.
