I'm a CEO - Get Me Out of Here!

I'm a CEO Get me out of Here · 21 March 2025 ·
Hello! I'm Tom, one of the directors at software engineering firm Switchplane.
I've signed up as a St Wilfrid's campmate for a day of challenging "bushtucker"-style activities to help them raise a bit of money.
Like many others, I have a personal connection to the hospice.
In 2019, I lost my mum to cancer. In her last few months, she'd become too weak to get upstairs to bed and so ended up sleeping on a sofabed. It got to the point where she couldn't get out of the sofabed, so the hospice arranged for a hospital bed to be set up in her front room so she could get a decent sleep. The day after the bed was delivered, she informed me that she had had the best sleep of her life. She died later that day.
Just over a year later, I also lost a life long friend to cancer. The hospice supported him and his family through the hardest of times. He was funny and brave to the end.
I figure that if I can help to raise enough money for someone else to get great care, a decent bed, and a good night's sleep at a time when they desperately need it, it's got to be worth doing.
Thanks for your support.
