Story
I will be running the London Marathon 2024 for Muscular Dystrophy UK. Muscular Dystrophy is a group of diseases that cause progressive weakness and loss of muscle mass. A lot of people are unaware of this disease and until a year ago I was one of them. My 6-year-old Nephew, Oska, is not currently diagnosed but is being investigated for Muscular Dystrophy. Oska struggles with simple tasks like walking down the stairs. Although he is not completely impacted yet on his day-to-day life my family does have concerns. Over the last year, I have learned more and more about Muscular Dystrophy by attending charity events and listening to people affected by this disease and their stories. There is not currently a cure for Muscular Dystrophy but it can be treated to manage the condition and slow down the progression of the disease. Muscular Dystrophy is an amazing charity and very important to me. The London Marathon has always been on my bucket list and to be a part of this for #TeamOrange is a huge honour. I would like to repay the charity with my support in raising as much money for further research and support for those affected.
