Story

Hi folks,

In October 2022, I tore my ACL, MCL and dented my Patella playing Football. In order to give myself a kick up the backside, and attempt to shed the considerable weight gain that's occurred in the last 14 months, I've signed myself up to do something I've never even contemplated before: The London Marathon.

I've ran a half before, so it's only that x 2 right?

Alongside this, I'm fundraising for the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation. Motor Neurone Disease is currently incurable and affecting numerous people up and down the country. It's a charity close to my heart, and to the hearts of fellow Ipswich Town Football Club supporters, with our former player (and my childhood hero) Marcus Stewart currently fighting the disease bravely and valiantly.

If you want to give money to a good cause, want to help out a fellow Town fan, enjoy seeing a tubby lad being put through hell, or all three, I appreciate any donations.

About the charity

Former Liverpool, Bradford City and Bolton Wanderers footballer Stephen Darby and close friend and British Forces Veteran Chris Rimmer have partnered together to launch the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation. Stephen and Chris both have Motor Neurone Disease and have created a Foundation to create awareness of MND, to fund and assist research into the illness with the quest of finding a cure for the illness, to raise funds and offer grants to those with MND, as well as creating a network to help provide information and emotional support network for those diagnosed with the disease.
