Story
The Clock Tower Sanctuary is a day centre in central Brighton doing brilliant work supporting young people experiencing homelessness.
I have been volunteering at The Clocktower Sanctuary for over a year to help clients using the artistic skills that I have. By offering them the option of a weekly drawing session, I hope that the time spent puts clients into a safe and calm space, developing or rediscovering a skill that perhaps they have forgotten about. In the time I have been there I have met some amazing young individuals and hopefully allowed them to build trust, self esteem and some enjoyment into their week.
For this project, I plan to produce a 4m long image of the West Pier in chalk on the pavement over the course of the morning. While doing this, people will be invited to have a go at drawing on Brighton seafront for themselves. In the afternoon I intend to provide some workshops for people to create their own version of the pier on a smaller scale.
At this event we are hoping to raise awareness of the great work carried out by CTS and add as much as possible to the funds to enable volunteers and staff to carry on their vital work.
So please come along, see the drawing come together and create your own art to take away. Donate what you can to show your support.
Also, everyone who donates will be entered into a draw to win a hand painted A4 picture of the West Pier. See below. Please tick that you would like to hear from the charity so we can contact you to let you know if you have won.
