Mental health is an ever-worsening problem in the modern world. Having been close to people who deal with this struggle every day, it's clear that mental health is often overlooked by most and is often difficult for people dealing with it to express their internal pain for understanding or to seek support.
For this reason, I will attempt to take part in a 51km (31 miles) race directly after attempting to set a 5 Rep Weighted Pull-Up for maximum load in order to help raise money for West Kent Mind and awareness for those in need. The money raised here will give people who struggle with mental health a safe place where they can get support, counselling, take part in activities and meet with people who can relate to their personal struggles so nobody has to fight their battles alone.
You can help support people through this battle by donating anything you can offer to keep the charity going and give people more opportunities to take part in spirit-lifting activities and build a community of support.
If you don't want to donate money, you can still do your part by sharing this fundraiser to help raise awareness or talking to someone who you think might be dealing with mental health problems.
If you personally deal with mental health, please reach out to your friends and family for support, or visit your local Mind charity. Likewise, feel free to contact me if you ever want to talk.
