Story
On the 31st of December 2023, our beautiful daughter Savannah Rose Hussey was born sleeping at 26 weeks. Our world crashed down. The compassionate care provided by Pembury Hospital midwives during this heartbreaking time will forever remain etched in our memory. Thanks to Sands, we were given a cold cot, allowing us to have precious time to create memories with Savannah as a family. A memory box, containing her hand and footprints, became a cherished keepsake. The bereavement suite, where we spent invaluable time with Savannah, was funded by Sands.
In memory of our beloved daughter and sister, Savannah Rose Hussey, we are embarking on an overnight hike up Snowdon mountain, arriving at the top to watch the sunrise. Our goal is to raise funds for Sands, a vital organization supporting grieving families who have experienced the loss of a baby.
Currently in the UK, 13 families a day suffer the heartbreak of losing their baby before, during or shortly after birth. That’s around 4,500 babies a year. These numbers are shocking and show the scale of the problem.
Sands works in partnership with health care professionals, trusts and health boards and offers a range of training programmes and bereavement care resources to ensure that every bereaved parent and family receives the best possible care wherever they are in the UK
Your support means the world to us as we honor Savannah's memory and contribute to a cause close to our hearts
