Tiwa's fundraiser for Autistica

Fundraising for Autistica
Approximately 1 in 100 individuals are diagnosed with autism. Yet despite its profound impact on so many lives, autism research receives far less funding than conditions like cancer and dementia. This gap means fewer resources for diagnosis, support, and understanding —especially for overlooked groups like adults and women.
That’s why I’m running the Hyde Park 10K next month for Autistica. Autistica leads the way in pioneering research, evidence-based therapies, and shaping national policy to create real change. They work to ensure that autistic people receive the recognition and support they deserve — regardless of age or background.
With April being both Neurodiversity and Autism Awareness Month, this fundraising effort feels especially meaningful. It’s a time dedicated to increasing understanding and acceptance, making now the perfect moment to take action.
Every donation makes a difference:
• £20 funds an hour of vital laboratory research.
• £150 enables a full day of consultation with an autistic person on a research project.
• £500 provides a crucial brain scan that could unlock new understanding.
I’d be incredibly grateful for any support — whether through donations or simply sharing this cause with others.
Thank you for reading, and hopefully for your donation!
P.S. I’ll be sharing my training updates here over the next few weeks…
