Update 07/11/24
After a week in hospital due to worsening symptoms of IBD, it’s looking likely that Cal is heading to surgery. It’s been a difficult week for us to come to terms with this sudden change in what we thought the future looks like, but the care at Addenbrooke’s has been brilliant and most of the time, Cal is in good spirits. His sister and her friends have arranged a bake sale so once again we are being surrounded by love and offers of support.
Update: 08/10/24
Thank you all so much for your amazing support. Over £1000 raised in a single weekend. In advance of our first fundraising events, the target has now been doubled! £2000 here we come!
Our Family’s Next Steps: Raising Awareness and Funds for PSC
Recently, our son Cal was diagnosed with Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC) and IBD-U. While we were expecting the IBD diagnosis, having watched the symptoms have a devastating impact of Cal’s last year, the PSC diagnosis has been a shock.
PSC is a rare and chronic liver condition, and while it’s been a tough diagnosis to navigate, we’re focused on moving forward and supporting him however we can.
As part of that, our family has decided to start raising funds for PSC support and research. We’ll be sharing more about upcoming events and how you can get involved in helping raise awareness for this condition that affects so many lives.
We appreciate any support you can offer, whether it’s spreading the word or participating in our efforts.
Thanks for being with us on this journey.
Here’s a bit more information about our chosen charity:
PSC Support is the only UK charity dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by the rare, autoimmune disease, primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC). PSC has no cure or medical treatment.
Donating to my fundraising page means you are helping PSC Support to provide much-needed support and information to people affected by PSC. Critically, you'll be helping PSC Support to fund and drive groundbreaking PSC research, taking us closer and closer to a cure. Every penny counts.
Thank you. #LetsBeatPSC
