Story
We are Team Jane, Dughall, Tina, Rachael and Rose.
We know how hard life can be for some, no matter how loved and cherished they are, and we want to support a charity that will walk hand in hand in hand with people through their struggle.
On 8 February I lost one of my oldest, dearest, most precious friends by/to suicide. I don't even know how to describe it. I can't remember life before she was part of it. I loved her and she is missed by so many people because she was an amazing beam of light and sass and fun and bonkers beautiful vital directness.
So, along with my dogs, and also the dogs I know (because to be frank my dogs wouldn't move off the sofa for long enough so I need help from the York Walkies gang), we will walk and do what we can to help the Samaritans provide their lifeline of a listening ear and moment of peace or safety or friendship for people who need it.
We would so appreciate it if you could spare just a couple of pounds to support the Samaritans too.
Whether you donate £5 or £500, your donation means a lot to us and could answer the call for help that saves someone’s life. We’ve included more information about Samaritans and their lifesaving work below.
In memory and celebration of Samantha and David. X
Thank you💚

Every ten seconds, Samaritans answer a call for help. We’re here, day or night, for anyone who’s struggling to cope, who needs someone to listen without judgement or pressure. Samaritans is not only for the moment of crisis, we’re taking action to prevent the crisis. We give people ways to cope and the skills to be there for others.
Every life lost to suicide is a tragedy, and Samaritans’ vision is that fewer people die by suicide. That’s why we work tirelessly to reach more people and make suicide prevention a priority.
