Story
Thanks for reading. I am trekking up Kilimanjaro, Tanzania very soon and in the process hoping to raise some money for a great charity. I am raising money for the amazing work undertaken by the Paediatric Critical Care Unit (PCCU) at the Royal London Hospital - who looked after my friends' baby, Daithí. I would love you to sponsor me if possible, anything is helpful. Thank you!
What I am Doing
I am trekking with a small group from Moshi on the Lemosho trail to the Uhuru Peak on Kilimanjaro. Its about 42 miles up, slightly less down as you take a different route. Its around 8 days up to get to the 5,895 metre summit (19,354 feet). Fortunately its compulsory to have a team including guides and porters (as it provides jobs for local people) so I am hopeful I will make it to the top and back again!
Why Am I Doing It
A couple of friends suggested it and I said ... yes! But also I am raising money for a wonderful charity that's become close to my heart as my very good friends' baby - Daithí - had a bumpy start in life and in short, I am helping raise some money for this awesome cause. This trek is part if a wider range of activities - DANDER WITH DAITHÍ - to raise as much money as possible for the charity.
Tell Me More
We are raising money for the amazing work undertaken by the Paediatric Critical Care Unit (PCCU) at the Royal London Hospital. We are fundraising via a series of sponsored walks, ranging from a Mount Kilimanjaro trek to a step challenge to match the total number of kilometers Daithí has travelled between hospitals!
This forms part of an annual effort to help the charities which supported us as a family when we needed it most (PCCU, the CATS and the Sick Children's Trust).
