Hi Everyone. So this is my fundraising page. Please get on board. We need all the encouragement can get!

Here’s a little bit of context:

I met Henry back in the early eighties and he blew my mind. I had never been up close to such an amazing fiddle player. We immediately formed a very strong friendship and went on to have countless adventures both musical and non-musical over the many years through which I count myself so lucky to have known him.

When he was finally diagnosed with Parkinson’s 7 years ago, it was a devastating blow to see a man who was the absolute definition of dexterity and skill coping with its gradual loss.

As with all sufferers of this condition he has had to try to come to terms with his changing circumstances and I have found it in turn inspiring and humbling to witness the incredible strength and fortitude with which he bears this mental and physical burden.

Scientists work tirelessly to understand and influence the mechanisms of this dreadful condition and amazing breakthroughs have already been made. My very real hope is that a cure will be found in time and that one day people will not have to suffer the premature decline in their powers that my friend deals with so bravely.

We are going to ride the London to Brighton on a tandem - a feat which will seriously challenge both of us!
