Story
I'm doing the Half Marathon in a sleeping bag to highlight the fact that people are still having to use them to survive.
Sleeping bags are the symbol of rough sleeping. When people want to support people on the streets, they often help us by donating sleeping bags.
We don't want to be asking for sleeping bags - we don't want people to be in a position where they have to sleep rough. This shouldn't be happening in the UK, but it is and while that's the reality, we need your support.
For over 30 years, The Archer Project has been a lifeline for homeless and vulnerable people living in Sheffield.
On a daily basis The Archer Project offers:
- Breakfast and lunch service
- Access to toilets, showers and laundry facilities
- Donated clothes, shoes and sleeping bags
On a longer term basis, The Archer Project works with beneficiaries to access services that can support with housing, finances and mental health, along with volunteering opportunities and eventually the possibility of paid work through one of our social enterprises.
With your support we can continue to help the people who need it most.
