Austin Branagh, my Dad passed away in the NI Hospice in September 2021 where he had been cared for so diligently for a number of weeks as he battled prostate cancer. In memory of my Dad and in support of the NI Hospice I am completing a fundraising walk on Saturday 5th August. My plan is to walk to all 6 Irish League Football grounds in Belfast from his lifetime in a single walk. The walk will start at Stormont where he played his sport for more than 30 years and was the Chairman of the Northern Ireland Civil Service Sports Association and then include the Oval, home of Glentoran FC, Seaview, the home of Crusaders FC, Solitude, the home of Cliftonville FC, Grosvenor Park (site), the former home of Distillery FC, Celtic Park (site), the former home of Belfast Celtic and finish at Windsor Park, the home of Linfield FC. My Dad, was responsible for introducing to me to following Irish League Football, a passion that I retain to this day nearly 60 years on. My Dad lifted me over at every Irish League ground in the country and I was lucky enough to see Martin O Neill playing for Distillery, Gerry Armstrong for Bangor and Billy Hamilton for Linfield amongst many others. I grew up with players such as Finlay and Jamison, Lennox and Savage, Scott and Pavis, Murray and Dickson, McAvoy and Mowat and my Dad was with me through it all. Interestingly he supported Distillery, his brother my Uncle Billy supported Linfield and his Dad, my Granda Branagh supported Belfast Celtic! Some craic in that house on a Saturday tea time.

I would be immensely grateful if you could help me with this effort to raise funds for such a wonderful, professional and caring place as the NI Hospice every donation will be put to good use- thanks so much!
