Story
Hospice of the Good Shepherd provides palliative care for residents of Cheshire West, Chester and Deeside. Services are provided free of charge to patients and families facing life limiting illnesses. Dedicated staff and healthcare professionals help patients, friends, families and carers through difficult and painful times and provide practical, emotional, social and spiritual support. The Hospice relies on the local community to fund their crucial work. Less than a third of the £4 million annual running costs come from government funding. The remainder is generated through fundraising, donations, events and corporate partnerships.
The Countess Charity is the official charity at The Countess of Chester Hospital. The team works with the local community, corporates and grant making trusts to raise money for over 80 different funds across the hospital each one making a real difference to patient care. The Countess Charity exists not to fund patient care, but to enhance and improve it.
