We want to create a new, accessible, playpark for all to enjoy at Matheson Place, Portree, Isle of Skye.

Story

As I turn 50 on Monday 20th March- we still need to raise £2,000 for 4 Memorial Picnic Benches for our Park

So I’m setting myself a gruelling 5 days of 50 swimming lengths and 50 press ups a day - that may sound easy to some I’m not actually sure I can do it but I’ll give it a good go 😆😆

The Matheson Place Play Park group formed in 2021 with a vision to create a brand new accessible, play park facility in a derelict site at Matheson Place, Portree (Skye).

Residents Tiffany Maberley, Sarah Nisbit and Fiona Stoddart have formed a group under the umbrella of The Portree and Braes Community Trust and are receiving support from some other lovely ladies from The Highland Council Fort William headquarters to help drive the project forward. The site has been mostly cleared (by Gary Shinnie and Alex Latton and his team and Robert Macdonald) and good progress is being made overall! There are so many processes in a project like this it takes time to move through the stages however with a team of people bringing a whole range of different skills to the table we are hopeful that we will achieve our goal.

Weve so far had lots of meetings and managed to have a 3D plan of what the playpark will look like by Kompan, who also supplied Kyleakins new playpark in 2021. Now the fundrais
