Story
Firstly, thank you very much for taking the time out to visit and read my JustGiving page.
My names Paul and I am fundraising for the MS Society in memory of my Grandma Margaret Young. To fundraise I'm tackling the National Three Peak Challenge.
My Grandma was a kind, wonderful woman who always put others before herself. Having been a nurse for a number of years, she never lost that caring nature. She was resilient, with a positive mindset which never failed to amaze me. It was an inspiration to me how she stared adversity in the eye and didn't allow it to get her down. As the saying goes, she was as tough as old boots!
My grandma was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in the early 2000s. Throughout the years following her diagnosis, Grandma's mobility became limited and she ultimately became wheelchair bound. Grandma never let this get her down. I had never seen her complain about anything and looking back this truly amazes me.
Following a tough battle in 2022-2023, my Grandma passed away peacefully on the 21st of June 2023.
I'm very pationate about fundraising for the MS Society and believe the work they are carrying out is so important in tackling this terrible disease, and supporting those who suffer from it.
To explain MS as a disease, this YouTube video is very insightful - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RaSD7FnsSDs
To fundraise for the MS Society, beginning on Friday the 7th of June and ending on Saturday 8th of June 2024, I will tackle the National Three Peak Challenge, attempting to climb the highest Peak in Scotland, England and Wales within a 24 hour period (Including travel time).
This will test me physically but also mentally, as I attempt the 3 peaks challenge covering 23 miles of distance with an ascent of over 10,000 ft.
I know with this worthy cause at my back and the fact I am doing for Grandma, will keep me pushing on.
Once again, thank you for reading this page and if you have donated, please know how much it means to me, the MS Society and my family.
