This life saving equipment is much needed at BCH and one costs around £35,000. Della needed a ventilator for each operation she had. Please donate if you can.

Our youngest daughter Della who is 6 years old was diagnosed with Crainopharyngioma in November 2022. Crainopharyngioma is a rare brain tumour. In the past year Della has had 5 operations on her brain, 8 hospital admissions and many visits to the emergency department.

Most of Della’s tumour has been removed. There is a small solid/calcified part left and there is also a small cyst. Della currently has regular MRI’s to look for any changes.

Della has lots of people looking after her including, neurosurgery, oncology, endocrinology, neuropsychology, eye hospital, play teams and her hospital teacher and she has regular outpatient appointments. When she has been an inpatient she has stayed on Seahorse intensive care, Daisy high dependency and Bluebell Neuro ward. All staff’s hard work and commitment is extraordinary and we will be forever grateful.

During the last year we have seen first hand the pressure the NHS is under. Della has had numerous operations cancelled due to faulty equipment, patient waiting lists and limited resources. The stress this brings to families and staff is unexplainable. This is why we would like to raise money for essential equipment needed at Bristol Children’s Hospital, currently a new ventilator.

Della is an incredible young girl who delights in life. She loves music, dancing and singing, her scooter, loom bands, drawing and craft. She is doing exceptionally well. We are so thankful to her medical team for fighting for the best surgery techniques and outcomes for her.
