Skydive & Tour De Vale bike ride · 8 June 2025

Join WheelPower, the national charity for Wheelchair Sport for their annual bike ride, the TOUR DE VALE. Buckinghamshire's biggest & best charity bike ride, starting & finishing at Stoke Mandeville Stadium, birthplace of the Paralympic Movement.

Story

I'm raising money for WheelPower who have been providing opportunities for children and adults with physical impairments to take part in sport for over 75 years. Based at Stoke Mandeville Stadium, the birthplace of the Paralympic movement, WheelPower is at the heart of wheelchair sport.

Attending WheelPower events can be a life changing experience for participants and their friends & family too. It gives them all the opportunity for inclusion and support and to be able to try something new!

Take Malachy for example:

Malachy attended his first WheelPower National Junior Games in 2023 along with his grandmother and guardian, Lucy.

Here is what Lucy had to say about Malachy’s time at the National Junior Games:

"I didn’t think there was a lot of hope going forward, but this event has given me so much. Every person I have spoken to has given me leaflets or telephone numbers, or email addresses or clubs that we can get to nearer to home. We’ve got opportunities that we’d never thought we’d have, and now we can explore different avenues."
