Story

On the 27th February 2025, my son Joseph and I will be joining a SleepOut Event at Lord's Cricket Ground, challenging participants to sleep outside in the middle of winter, raising awareness for the issue of homelessness and fundraising for charities tackling these community issues.

The money raised from this campaign will go towards the Gandon Prodger Legacy Fund, supporting a number of fantastic charities who are tackling the issue of homelessness and addressing other important challenges in the local community. This Fund was recently established by Nick Gandon, a friend of mine who has already done so much for the charitable sector and for cricket.

Funds raised will ensure that each of the four beneficiary charities of the Fund can use the transformative power of sport to change the lives of those both in the UK and abroad. These are:

– The East Africa Character Development Trust

– The Alsama Project

– The Saracens Foundation

– The Club Cricket Charity

The impact will be profound. It will allow us to support projects to:

- support refugees who have fled persecution in Afghanistan and come to the UK, via opportunities to play cricket here in the UK;

- transform the lives of disadvantaged young East Africans through sport and education

- help young refugees in Lebanon gain the skills they need to thrive both on and off the cricket field.
