The people who struggle on the streets of Hackney and London as a whole need and deserve our support, particularly as it gets darker and colder, and nights on the streets become harder.

I am taking part in a ‘sleep out’ event - my first - with a sleeping bag and some warm clothes. No tent, come rain or clear skies. It’s a modest total but all donations go to the shelter. Here’s some info about them and the event below.

Hackney Night Shelter is a homeless shelter in the heart of Victoria Park Village, supporting the community by providing emergency accommodation to individuals experiencing street homelessness. The HNS Annual Sleep Out is back with another local fundraising event for 2025. After the fabulous success of our first sleep out in 2024, we wanted to gather our supporters together, and hopefully make some new friends as we join in an opportunity to raise funds, and connect with our neighbours whilst supporting our shelter to stay open.

These community fundraising events are essential to keeping our doors open. Hackney Night Shelter is open 365 nights of the year we wouldn’t be able to do this without support from local grants, and our community fundraising events throughout the year.

It really does take a village, and we are so lucky to be here in the heart of Victoria Park Village, and we look forward to continuing to support and engage with our community here!
