Just over 17 years ago I lost my wonderful Grandmother to Motor Neurone Disease. It was a huge loss for my whole family, and I still feel robbed of the time I’ve missed with her. On December 15th this year, I will be running the Pisa Marathon in honour of Frannie, combining both a massive personal goal of mine and simultaneously supporting a cause I feel very deeply for.

I’ve been totally taken aback by the support I’ve received by my friends and family, especially considering I initially planned on telling no one about my marathon, so to have over 20 of them fly out to Italy with me is incredibly special to me. I was even more surprised to find that many of them wanted to run too, so they will be joining me for the 4 mile and half marathon events.

I have the full backing of the MND association, and I’d like to leave as big of an impression for this great cause as I can in order to help many other friends and families suffering from this awful disease.
