If we lived in a world where there is a cure for MND my lovely dad would still be here, and we’d be celebrating his 75th birthday in November. In tribute of Dad and the age he could (and should) have been, I’ve decided to build my next personalised challenge around the number 75.

When? Tuesday 7th May (7/5)

What? My plan is to walk, run and scramble my way around the Island of Anglesey section of the Wales Coast Path. This section is approx 130 miles, depending on which website or map you trust 😂 My aim is to complete the whole challenge within 75 hours. The same websites all agree this section should take a full week to complete 🤪

The clock will start running down as soon as I set off and it won’t stop until I make it back to the starting point. So as soon as I set off, we’ll be able to calculate what time I need to finish by on the Friday 10th May.

During my challenge I am hoping to call in at Anglesey Sea Zoo, where one of my favourite photos of me and Dad was taken (middle pic in the cover photo) 💜

These will be very long days on my feet. I’ll need to average approx 40 miles a day Tues-Thurs then make sure I’ve enough in the tank to finish within the 75hrs on Friday.

I think my dad would love the combination of sentimentality and insanity that this new challenge brings… and he would expect nothing less from me!

Why? I’m hoping to raise money to support the Leeds Hospitals Charity’s campaign to build the Rob Burrow MND Centre in Leeds. In the words of the amazing Dr Agam Jung: “We want to provide a safe haven for our patients and their families - a peaceful environment that reiterates to them that they have the best possible care, helping them ‘live in the now’, a serene place that instils hope and courage.” 💜
