As many of you know, our son Harry was diagnosed with Autoimmune Encephalitis in August 2023.

The condition left Harry unable to speak or move (absolutely terrifying) but thanks to a speedy diagnosis, first rate rehab and a little boy full of determination to get home, he is thankfully on the road to recovery.

We count our blessings everyday because we know that not all recoveries are so fast or complete. The condition leaves many with permanent disabilities, both mentally and physically.

The Encephalitis Society provides invaluable support and advice to those diagnosed with encephalitis, as well as their loved ones and is a charity we now hold dear.

We had incredible support, not just from The Encephalitis Society but also our family and friends and the local and wider community. This challenge (as bonkers as it sounds!) is our chance to give a little back.
