Story

This year we are proud to be running the Brighton Half Marathon on the 25th February to raise money for The Sussex Beacon.

The Sussex Beacon is a HIV charity based locally in Brighton which offers provides specialist care and support for people living with HIV/ AIDS.

The amazing work of their nurses, caseworkers and counsellors is life altering for their service users and we are inspired everyday by their dedicated volunteers who selflessly give their time to supporting those in need.

Our Team Beacon relay team, The Red Racers:

Lloyd Russell- Moyle MP is the only openly HIV positive parliamentarian in the world and has a personal connection with the charity.

Labour Leader of Brighton Council Cllr Bella Sankey is proud to be working within the city council to work towards ending transmission by 2030.

Cllr David McGregor who is the Lead on the Night-time Economy and a proud member of LGBT Labour who is keen to use his position to spread awareness and education of HIV.

Cllr Bruno De Oliveira, chair of the Health & Wellbeing Board, spoke at the Zero HIV Stigma Day of Action is dedicated to encouraging more people to access testing, treatment, and prevention.

Together we will be running the Brighton Half Marathon as a combined effort to raise as much money for Sussex Beacon as possible.

Please donate to our fundraiser and help Sussex Beacon with their wonderful work.
