The Mornins | 26 Miles in 26 Days!

26 miles in 26 days Challenge in March · 1 March 2025 to 26 March 2025 ·
Hey! We are the Mornin family! We are Lauren, Gareth, Joshua & Heidi and we have decided to take part in Young Epilepsy’s 26 Miles in 26 Days Challenge to raise awareness and vital funds for this life changing condition.
Many of you will know our daughter Heidi was diagnosed with a rare type of Epilepsy; Infantile Spasms in November 2022 at just 4 months old which has now progressed into Lennox Gastaut Syndrome. It has been a rollercoaster of emotions ever since! Fast forward almost 2.5 years and Heidi has on average 10 seizures per day and is currently on 4 different anti-seizure medications which she takes daily. Although she suffers every single day, she is the happiest little girl you’ll ever meet!
We wouldn’t change Heidi for the world, but her condition does cause our family lots of stress and worry and therefore we have decided that for 26 days in March, we are going to get out, get some fresh air (as well as some much needed exercise!) all while raising funds to be able to help and raise awareness for families who are similar to us!
We are so blessed to have so many people; family, friends, various church families and colleagues praying, loving and supporting us in our journey and so we’re asking each of you if you would support us as we walk, run, cycle (and swim) for 26 miles!
Purple Day on 26th of March is the International Day of Epilepsy awareness. Epilepsy can be one of the most frightening and isolating conditions children can experience.
