Story
The Kellock Clan are taking part in the Jurassic Coast MacMillan Mighty Hike to thank them for their support during Dan Kellocks Cancer treatment during 2023.
Team Members are Dan Kellock, Louise Kellock, Graham Blackwell, Chloe Hullis, Lindsey Ramsay, Noel Ramsay, Karen John, Chelly O'Key, Matthew O'Key, Ross Thomason and Ellie White.
Dan was diagnosed in December 2022 with Oesophageal Cancer, which was a shock to all his family and friends. Even though the news was devastating, scary and emotional, Dan took the diagnosis in his stride and always remained positive. In true Dan Kellock style his outlook was 'NO' this is not going to beat me.
In February Dan undertook his first round of Chemotherapy head-on which lasted for 9 weeks. After this it was 6 weeks to recover before his Oesophagectomy Surgery in May.
After the op it was more recovery before more Chemo. This time round it was more gruelling than the first due to the effects of the operation and it being his second round. Again, Dan took this on in his true fashion... head on. That's not to say it wasn't easy.. actually the opposite but the positivity he gave out meant it was that bit easier.
In November Dan was given the amazing news that he was cancer free.
From diagnosis to being given the news of all clear, The MacMillan Upper GI Team have been there to support Dan, Louise, Lily and Alfie through every step of the journey. This support has been outstanding as they have guided, supported and counselled the family which has been a godsend.
That's why Dan and Louise, alongside family and friends are taking on the Jurassic Coast Mighty Hike to raise funds to support MacMillan.
"Nothing can repay what MacMillan have done for us but we hope this goes to show how much we appreciated the support." Dan and Louise xxx
